Law Enforcement Warns of Jury Duty Scam

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is alerting area residents of a scam occurring involving payment to avoid receiving a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty.

The sheriff’s office said jury trials in Warren County are April 9-13 and the scammer most likely read about it in the paper. “The scammer probably saw that in the newspaper and took advantage of it,” Purvis said.

“We want people to know that the Sheriff’s office will not call people over the phone and tell them we have a warrant and that they have to pay over the phone.”
